The aim of this lecture is to broaden the theoretical knowledge of signals and coding to the extent required by the framework of ITS studies at the Faculty. The course has two parts: the first part presents the theoretical and practical features and properties of signals in time and frequency spectrum and its transmission over the media (air, cable) by different modulations. The second part then focuses on signal coding for digital communications, covering data compression and error correction.
